National Manufacturing Week - Carbon Tax to Kill off Award Winning Innovators

Congratulations to all the recipients of the Endeavour Awards celebrating innovation in manufacturing.

Quickstep Holdings Limited was named Manufacturer of the Year.

Other winners included Integra Systems, Hoshizaki Lancer PTY LTD, Seeley International, Quickstep Holdings, Australian paper Maryvale, ANCA PTY LTD, Colin North of Major Furnace Engineering, Aunew Group Holdings PTY LTD, Smith and Sons PTY LTD, Saurin Group, Longwarry Food Park, Jason Ko of Automotion Control Systems, The Dulux Group and Robotic Automotion.

These kinds of businesses are the engine room of innovation and productivity. Instead of recognising the integral role they have in the Australian economy, the Government wants to kill them off with a carbon tax,” said Shadow Minister for Innovation, Industry and Science, Sophie Mirabella.

In addressing the awards ceremony, Tony Abbott committed his support for Australian manufacturing and was rapturously received when he issued a call to arms to defeat the carbon tax.

“If this tax goes ahead we will see empty sheds where factories once stood. No amount of spin from the Government will change that,” said Mrs Mirabella.

“The carbon tax will kill off Australian manufacturing. It is an abrogation of duty for a Government to destroy the jobs of one million Australian workers and the businesses which employ them,” Mrs Mirabella concluded.
