Sophie Speaks at National Anti Carbon Tax Rally

Today, thousands of Australians descended upon the lawns of Parliament House to make their voices heard. The protestors who disagree with the Government’s tax plans were ridiculed by the Government.

The Government is trying to bully those who disagree with them into silence.

The Australian people will not be silenced by this government desperate to save one job, the Prime Minister’s job, while tens of thousands of Australians loose theirs as this carbon tax puts pressures on families and businesses alike.

At the rally Mrs Mirabella encouraged all Australians to speak their minds and never to be intimidated by a government that thinks they know best.

“Even if there is a change of Government at the next election, the introduction of a carbon tax in the meantime would export jobs as well as putting the cost of living up further,” Mrs Mirabella said.

That is why people power and the voice of the Australian people must be heard until Julia Gillard listens to common sense,” Mrs Mirabella concluded.
