Carr Carpeted – PM humiliates minister

In axing a series of his industry programs today, Ms Gillard has effectively carpeted Mr Carr for his wastefulness.
Ms Gillard announced today that each of the following programs would be abolished or cut in the Innovation, Industry, Science and Research portfolio:
Cash for Clunkers;
the Green Car Innovation Fund; and
the LPG Vehicle Scheme.
Minister Carr approved another project under the Green Car Innovation Fund saying "the fund was equipping the Australian auto industry to compete in the carbon-constrained economy of the 21
"Gillard has used flood rebuilding as an excuse, but these cuts show the coalition has been right in attacking the Minister’s spending," said Shadow Industry Minister Sophie Mirabella.
"They are also a humiliation for Mr Carr, who has long boasted about the alleged merit of his spending and criticised anyone who has suggested a slowdown.
"They also come only two days after Mr Carr announced funding of millions more into an LPG project through the Green car Innovation Fund!"
"The cuts have proven that Kim Carr is incompetent, stretches the truth and should step down."
