COMBET CARES FOR 1 JOB – JULIA GILLARD’S
03-February-2012
Industry Minister Greg Combet refuses to discuss industry job losses – instead inflames Labor’s civil war on its leadership trying to save 1 job – Julia Gillard’s.
With over 1,000 jobs gone just in the last week alone at companies like Holden, Toyota, Westpac and Reckitt Benckiser (the makers of Mortein and Dettol), Mr Combet’s indifference is not what industry needs at a time when confidence levels are at their greatest depths.
Mr Combet has cowardly hidden behind the demoted, struggling Kim Carr who is bumbling his way through media interviews and only yesterday remarkably claimed in an interview on Sky News that the car industry accounts for one million jobs in Australia.
Mr Carr obviously uses similar accounting methods to Bill Shorten, who on Wednesday played down the level of Labor’s car industry funding by about 3000%.
Mr Combet is clearly preoccupied with short term political fixes, and placating the faceless union bosses who skyrocketed him onto the front bench, rather than dealing with the unfolding industry crisis that this dysfunctional and directionless Government has failed in every attempt to address.
