“It’s time for Julia Gillard to wake up from her delusional stupor and ditch the carbon tax,” said Shadow Minister for Innovation, Industry and Science, Sophie Mirabella.
“They know just how delusional Ms Gillard is when she says that manufacturers will “adapt” to the carbon tax. They all know Australian manufacturing margins are tight and that this tax will make life even harder for them.
“This week is National Manufacturing Week and Ms Gillard owes all Australian manufacturing businesses and their one million workers an apology. She is mindlessly pursuing a political fix at the expense of their jobs and the environment. Workers don’t want the consolation prize of compensation, they want to keep their jobs,” said Mrs Mirabella.
