WHERE IS OUR CONSULTATION?

The Member for Indi, Sophie Mirabella is demanding answers from the Murray Darling Basin Authority and the Labor Government.
With areas within the electorate of Indi, copping the largest reduction in water entitlements, -a whopping 45%, Mrs. Mirabella is asking where is the community consultation for stake holders in the region.
Mrs. Mirabella said “Ignoring locals in this electorate just reinforces the government’s arrogance and disregard for Country Australians. The so called community consultation is a complete sham and is only window dressing for a plan that will probably be adopted by Julia Gillard no matter the expense and pain to farmers, local businesses and other water users.”
Mrs. Mirabella concluded by saying “The number of angry people that have turned up to the two meetings held so far reflect the frustration felt by the community at large and show the fighting spirit Australians have to try and ensure fair play and the survival and growth of their towns and regions.
