SOPHIE REAPPOINTED TO SHADOW CABINET

Late yesterday afternoon Tony Abbott, Leader of the Opposition reappointed Sophie Mirabella to the Shadow Cabinet in her current position of Shadow Minister for Innovation, Industry and Science.
“I am delighted to continue our local voice in the Opposition Shadow Cabinet where important decisions are made”, Mrs Mirabella said.
“There are half a dozen rural and regional members in the Opposition Shadow Cabinet and we will work together to ensure the needs and concerns of rural and regional Australia continue to be part of Coalition policy deliberations”, Mrs Mirabella said.
“This will also allow me to continue to develop industry, innovation and science policy.”
Among Coalition policies announced during the last election, Mrs Mirabella announced the $25.5 million TCF Strategic Industries Scheme specifically targeted to the development of innovation in Australian defence and emergency service personnel apparel.
“I take this opportunity again to thank the people of Indi who have shown their support for me. I will continue to represent them and do my job to hold the Government to account.”
